Description:
Breloom's usage has dropped slightly this generation due to Talonflame's dominance, but with every weakness that Breloom gets, it gets another two strengths to compensate for it. It got several new buffs this generation, one major one in the form of a 10 BP boost to Rock Tomb. It's now at 60 BP, which can be abused with Technician quite well, as it now has a powerful Rock type move that always lowers an opponent's speed. Along with this, Fighting Technician Priority STAB Mach Punch is always useful to have, especially in a metagame infested with Dark types. Not all is good news though, as Breloom's mediocre speed and relative predictability often keeps it from getting some much needed kills. However if you play Breloom to his strengths, he is a fantastic Pokemon.
Set #1: Technician
Breloom @ Life Orb
Ability: Technician
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Spore
- Bullet Seed
- Mach Punch
- Rock Tomb
Set Description:
The set is simple, Spore and attack. It requires prediction but it's worth it. Bullet Seed is a Technician boosted STAB move that hits multiple times, allowing you to break through substitutes as well. Mach Punch is another Technician boosted STAB move that also has priority. Rock Tomb is a technician boosted move that always allows you to maim a switch in and also reduce their speed. It can lead for some nasty surprises. Spore is the crux of the prediction cycle. You have to anticipate what you think the opponent will switch in.
Other Options:
You could always run a Poison Heal or a Subseed set, classic Breloom sets that work quite well.
