Description:
Pokemon Appearance: Volunch is a tall and lanky humanoid Pokemon with dark gray skin. On his skin are yellow lines that occasionally crackle with pure electricity, he can reroute the power from his electricity to his joints for extra speed and power. These lines of power connect randomly throughout his body, always finishing at the ends of the limbs and of course to the top of his head.
Pokemon Description: I based this Pokemon's concept off the appearance I crafted for it, and I used Primeape and Raichu's movepools as bases, removed some things, added some things, and then customized the movepool to fit Volunch's appearance. It's perfect for mixed attacking, even if it's lacking in its movepool somewhat. It has a useful typing with only three weaknesses and multiple resistances. Along with this, STAB Electric / Fighting nails a good portion of the tier for super effective damage. Let's see what kind of sets Volunch can pull off.
Set #1: Work Up
Volunch @ Life Orb
Ability: Motor Drive
EVs: 4 HP / 126 Atk / 126 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive or Hasty Nature
- Work Up
- Thunderbolt / Volt Tackle
- Close Combat / Vacuum Wave / Mach Punch
- Hidden Power Ice / Power Gem / Signal Beam
Set Description:
This is a simple boosting set. Simply use Work Up, then fire off one of your offensive moves. Which STAB you use for Electric / Fighting types respectively is up to you. The last slot is simply to have another option for coverage, I tend to run HP Ice to deal with Dragons but you could also run Power Gem or Signal Beam for extra coverage.
Closing Statement:
This is just one set I've come up with as a basis, I want you guys to look through his movepool and see what else you can come up with. I'm excited to see what you guys think of Volunch. What tier would he be in? How well do you think he would fair in the metagame? What Pokemon would he counter specifically? Let's get some good discussion on!
