Description:
Fletchinder is the pre-evolution of Talonflame, currently the top dog (bird) of OU. So it makes sense that people would look at its pre-evolution to see if it's viable right? Well, it's just barely viable. It has just enough tools to abuse its access to Gale Wings with along with a few other gems. It also has some nifty resistances to common attacking types. Sadly though, it doesn't get half of the good moves that Talonflame gets, and thus it's doomed to mediocrity and nothing more.
Set #1: Normal Gem Acrobatics
Fletchinder @ Normal Gem / No Item
Ability: Gale Wings
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Acrobatics
- Flame Charge
- Return / Roost
- Swords Dance
Set Description:
This set is a little interesting, it allows you to fire off a powerful Return boosted by Normal Gem, and said boost will activate Acrobatic's stunningly great BP of 130, which will in turn get priority thanks to Gale Wings. Alternatively you could use Roost and just forgo having an item all together. Flame Charge is a STAB move to help you get even more speed as well.
Other Options:
U-Turn, Will-O-Wisp and Tailwind could allow you to make a decent support set. However there are Pokemon that can pull it off better. It's still worth looking over though.
