    Description:

If only Luvdisc had gotten Baton Pass, it could have finally had a niche. Sadly though, Game Freak continues to be cruel to our little pink friend by giving him virtually no options. I'm always one to campaign for a Pokemon's usefulness (I'll run Onix in OU for fun), but poor Luvdisc literally has almost no use or reason to exist at all. If only it could have been a pre-evo for Alomomola and been somewhat useful in Little Cup. Or at least have gotten Baton Pass.

    Set #1: Gimmick Utility

    Luvdisc @ Life Orb
    Ability: Swift Swim
    EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Scald
    - Sweet Kiss
    - Toxic
    - Rain Dance

    Set Description:

Simple, use Sweet Kiss to confuse the opponent. Luvdisc does have good speed for an NU Pokemon, so it will help. Then either use Toxic if your Rain Dance boosted Scald won't work, or use Rain Dance then Scald. Luvdisc's Swift Swim will allow him to outspeed Scarfed Pokemon and you can then hope for a Scald burn.

    Other Options:

If Luvdisc got Baton Pass, there would be multiple other sets here. Such as passing Aqua Ring or Agility boosts. Sadly though, Game Freak hasn't given Luvdisc his chance to shine yet.
